Early Training & Socialization
Weimaraner training is important to implement as soon as the puppies are old enough to train. Why?
Weimaraners were bred to hunt large agressive animals as well as guard property, people from strangers and
predators. So without early Weimaraner training, these dogs can be very aggressive - and
dangerous.
In fact, they can and will become indiscriminatingly aggressive and dominant towards any stranger, dog or human if
not socialized early. Weighing in at a hefty 50-90 pounds, an aggressive Weimaraner is not to be taken
lightly.
Not to worry though, with the right dog
training guide, Weimaraners can be controlled and even made docile (somewhat).
Lessen Separation Anxiety
It's important to get a dog training guide that deals with dog separation anxiety. Weimaraner training must
incorporate puppy anxiety separation training because if left alone for prolonged periods of time, Weimaraners
will do anything to reunit with its owner.

It's not uncommon for a Weimaraner to chew through fences, dig their way out of a pen, whine incessantly and
even urinate on the floor or harm themselves in an attempt to reunite with their owners.
Give Them Lots of Exercise
Weimaraner training should include lots of exercise as these are very high strung dogs. They are alert,
protective and make formidable guardians for family and home. So if you're someone that works around the
clock and can't be bothered when you get home from work, this is not the dog for you!
Last But Not Least
Agility training (obstacle course) and obedience training at the intermediate level is something your Weimaraner
will love because of the mental and physical stimulation it provides. You'll also get to bond with your
dog.
Weimaraner training will make your dog very manageable to be around. They are naturally playful, intelligent
dogs and would prefer you interact with them while playing (especially tug-o-war).
Weimaraners are high energy and love to play fetch. You might want to invest in a tennis ball thrower as a
way for him to keep physically active (while you rest).
