Controversy Over
Clickertraining
Clickertraining is becoming popular
again. It had lost its appeal due to controversy over whether the dog was being "bribed" too much with
food instead of using "corrective" measurements when undesired behavior was exhibited. The problem
is that people are not using clickertraining correctly. Hence, the Clickertraining review
guide was written in order to clear up misconceptions about this dog training
process.
What is Dog
Clickertraining?
Dog clicker training is a reward based type training wherein desirable behavior is marked with a
clicker. When the dog does the desired behavior, a distinct click sound is made which lets the dog know that he is
doing the correct behavior. He then gets a reward as positive reinforcement.
The Proof is in the
Pudding
I'm
happy to say that Morten Egtvedt and his wife, Cecilie Koeste, two of the nation's top expert dog trainers have put
an end to this debate with their astounding techniques which they so easily lay out in the Clicker
training guide - The 4 Secrets of Becoming a Supertrainer.
So
this unique perspective from Morten Egtvedt and
Cecilie Koeste puts Clickertraining at a huge
advantage over other dog training guides.
Okay, so what
exactly is clicker training and why did it make my top 5
list of best dog training guides?
Cecilie Koeste
Review - Major
Credibility of Authors
For
starters, the authors, Morten Egtvedt and Cecilie Koeste, the married dog training
team from Norway, have over 19 years experience with training search and rescue dogs.
They’ve also
trained under Karen Pryor, the founder of clicker training - which means they’ve got serious credentials in the dog
training arena.
Morten Egtvedt Review - Vast Expertise in Dog Training Field
Morten Egtvedt
has trained dogs approved for military service for 13 years and is a certified dog training instructor in the
Norwegian Army – that means clicker training is not just for cute little dogs to do cute training
tricks!
They both run a
clicker training school in 21 cities in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark focusing not only on the average dog trainer
but using clicker training to win in competitions.
These are the same techniques they teach you in their Clickertraining review
Guide.
What is Clickertraining?
Okay, enough of the
credentials already, what is clicker training? My in-depth clickertraining review reveals that clicker training
is a positive training methodology. In
clicker training the trainer doesn’t lure or bribe the dog - contrary to popular
belief.
The treats are well hidden in
their pockets until the dog offers the right behavior on his own. THEN the trainer clicks and treats. This is a
huge difference between outright bribery which only works occasionally!
When you are clicker training
(and again, I´m talking about supertraining - not just using the clicker as a marker) the dog learns to THINK.
The dog learns to solve problems, to experiment, to be creative. The dog feels a sense of control of the
training situation - and he loves it!
What's So Great About This Product?
During my clickertraining
review, I realized that I respect the authors, who are highly credentialed. That
says a lot. Also, they have specific experience with breed specific dogs and have trained them for
extraordinary events such as the military and competition shows! That means training your average Snoopy
will be a cinch!
Lastly, I like and
respect that this product doesn’t promise results in 2 days – not that it couldn’t actually make that
claim.
But I tend to shy away from
hyped up claims. The Clickertraining site is respectable and credibly written. It’s an incredible package with
tons of valuable, easy to implement dog training techniques for any kind of dog behavior problem. Their
techniques can be applied to breed specific dogs.
